Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash
Tumblr media
Brand: Desert Essence
Product Type: Cleanser
Price: $11.19 USD
Size: 8.5 fl oz
✔️Vegan  ✔️Clean Ingredients  ✔️Cruelty Free  ✔️Sustainable Packaging
Star Ingredients:
Tea Tree Oil: Clarifies, balances oil production, good for oily, acne-prone skin
Castile Soap: Gentle olive oil-based hydrating cleanser
Coconut Oil: Hydrates and nourishes
Lavender, Chamomile, & Calendula Essential Oils: Soothes and nourishes, antioxidants
Texture: Gel
Feel: Very clean
Scent: 🌸🌸🌸
Results: Formerly known as Tea Tree Oil Face Wash. This was my go-to cleanser whenever I was struggling with acne. Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, so it's really good at clearing up breakouts. The gentle soap base made of olive oil-based Castile soap and coconut oil keeps your skin hydrated enough to counter any stripping that might have occurred from the tea tree oil. I even used this when I lived in the desert; I had no issues with overdrying.
The essential oils nourish your skin and provide a pleasant botanical scent. Chamomile and calendula are both ingredients known for reducing redness and sensitivity.
I really do recommend this if you have oily problem skin. It's a great product and it doesn't cost a lot. You can even buy refills on their website.
Comps: Trader Joe's Spa Face Wash with Tea Tree Oil is a very close ingredient match to this product. I found it on Amazon at $16.64 for a single 8.5 fl oz bottle OR in a 2-pack for $24.99.
There are lots of other cleansers with tea tree oil in them. In the high range you've got: Osea Malibu Ocean Cleansing Mudd Organic Tea Tree Oil Cleanser ($48/5.0 fl oz), Odacite Black Mint All Natural Face Wash ($45/3.38 fl oz), Dermalogica Clearing Skin Wash ($44/8.4 fl oz) and Clear Start Breakout Clearing Foaming Cleanser ($19.50/6.0 fl oz), Tula Keep It Clear Acne Foam Cleanser ($36/6.3 fl oz), 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil & Willow Clarifying Cleanser ($34/3.4 fl oz), and Dr. Jart+ Teatreement Cleansing Foam ($29/4.05 fl oz).
More midrange-priced brands include: Buttah Skin Tea Tree & Aloe Mask Scrub ($24/3.4 fl oz), Urban Veda Neem + Tea Tree Purifying Facial Wash ($17/5.0 fl oz), Peach Slices Oil Control Balancing Cleanser ($14.99/4.05 fl oz), and CosRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser ($14/5.07 fl oz).
If you'd like to get away from gel and/or foam cleansers, there's a few non-traditional options. If you have really sensitive skin and want to use a more minimalist product, I recommend SW Basics Cleanser ($19.99/4.0 fl oz). It's a watery liquid you wipe on almost like a toner, then rinse off. I described it as more of a micellar water than a traditional cleanser. Such a great product.
If you like that more liquid consistency but want more actives, you can try Anne's Apothecary Black Honey Facial Cleanser ($19/2.5 fl oz). There's also ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil ($29/6.7 fl oz) and Hanskin Pore Cleansing Oil - PHA ($27/10.14 fl oz) if you want a cleansing oil with tea tree.
Some bar cleansers include Soapwalla Activated Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Face Wash Bar ($18), Meow Meow Tweet Tea Tree Charcoal Facial Bar ($12), and Carbon Theory Charcoal & Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Bar ($8.50).

Self-Care Regimen
Repost, don’t reblog
What’s their go-to shampoo and conditioner combination?
Ingrid uses a clarifying shampoo and conditioner because her hair is easily weighed down by product buildup and impurities. She uses a leave in conditioner made to strengthen and keep her curls healthy as well as locking in much needed moisture. If she doesn’t do this, her hair will be a frizzy, tangled mess. Once a month, she does a deep conditioning hair mask.
What other hair products do they use?
She uses coconut oil, a leave in styling spray that makes her hair easier to work with and hair gel to keep herself looking orderly and pristine. Not a hair can be out of place or it gives her anxiety.
What kind of fragrances do they use?
She likes the smell of peaches most of all. Her usual perfume and body lotion is peach scented. Other than that, she’ll use things that smell warm and sweet like vanillas or baked cookie smells.
What skin products do they use?
Her nightly routine is more complex than her morning one. At night, Ingrid uses micellar water to get her makeup off and then an oil cleanser for her eye and lip makeup. Then she uses a hydrating gel cleanser. Next is a vitamin E enriched toner with AHA in it. Then there’s the green algae serum that goes after that and an eye cream. Last is moisturizer. For the morning, she uses her gel cleanser again, applies sunscreen and then moisturizer again before putting on makeup.
How do they treat their skin conditions?
See above. Thankfully, Ingrid doesn’t have many skin issues.
What’s their go-to toothpaste?
She prefers mint toothpaste of any brand as long as it has fluoride in it.
How do they tend to their nails?
She has acrylic nails she gets done in the french style. It’s one of her few splurges she allows for herself. Sometimes she’ll get them in colors, but she prefers the basic french nail look most.

The DIY Silk Press
Tumblr media
Today’s post is definitely skewed more towards a smaller segment of my audience. On the whole, I tend to focus on product reviews that would work for a broad audience, but I’m also a proud member of #teamnatural. And this is also why I usually don’t cover hair care products, unless it’s something so amazing that I think it would work for more than silky straight hair textures. But, I also don’t venture into hair care that often either because the natural hair niche within the blogger/influencer/guru space is quite saturated. With that being said though, today’s post covers products that can actually work for a wide range of textures from silky straight to kinky curly. And, they can do double duty to help naturalistas achieve a DIY silk press. As background for this post, I’m a 4a/4b texture and my hair is just below BSL (bra strap length).
Now, if you’re not familiar, a silk press is basically what a press & curl was back in the day—only it uses lighter products so your hair isn’t weighed down. Or, IMO, it’s more like a Dominican blowout. If you don’t want to DIY this (which is totally understandable), there are plenty of salons you can go to. The main takeaways you need to remember if you do want to DIY a silk press is this:
1. Your hair must be very clean. Do NOT attempt to do this on dirty hair because the results will be less than ideal.
2. Do NOT use natural oils during the actual heat steps of the silk press. While natural oils are normally our best friends when wearing our hair curly, when you’re trying to flatiron or blowout your hair for a silk press, the high heat will actually make the oils “cook” your hair. That equals damage and can permanently alter your curl pattern.
So with that in mind, today’s review on these products will be focused from the perspective of a silk press. All but the Ion Silk Drops were gifted to me by the brand. For clarity, I’m reviewing these products as part of the silk press process which includes: Shampoo, condition, deep condition (optional) blow dry, flat iron.
Tumblr media
Shampoo: Many Ethnicities Invigorating Shampoo & Palmer’s Natural Fusions Micellar Rose Water Cleanser
Normally I don’t do a double wash, but it’s recommended for silk presses if you’re concerned about product or dirt buildup of any kind, that you use a clarifying shampoo. Now Many Ethnicities Invigorating Shampoo is a new to me hair care brand that was created by a mom who’s children all ended up having different hair types because they are multi-ethnic. She got tired of littering her bathroom with tons of different shampoos to tackle the unique needs of each of her children’s different textures, so she made her own! I like that this is definitely a nourishing shampoo which is ideal for kinkier textures as it won’t strip hair of vital moisture. My hair still felt soft after using this shampoo.
However, I knew that my hair and scalp were VERY dirty since I had just taken out the braids I’d been sporting for the last two months. So, that’s why I also used the Palmer’s Natural Fusions Micellar Rose Water Cleanser. It’s actually billed as a clarifying shampoo and leverages the concept of traditional micellar water to attract dirt and literally leave your hair squeaky clean. Normally, I would not want my hair to squeak. But in this instance, it was a good thing. I’ve used this shampoo in the past just for a regular wash day and it’s pretty hydrating and will not give you a squeaky clean result. The only reason it did this time is because I did a double wash.
Condition: Many Ethnicities Moisturizing Conditioner
Now, since a silk press meant I couldn’t use the moisturizers I normally would like Argan or Coconut oil, that meant I needed to find other ways to infuse moisture into my hair. This time I opted for the Many Ethnicities Moisturizing Conditioner. This conditioner emphasizes moisture because kinkier textures tend to be naturally drier and need the added moisture. And although it does have oils in it, it’s balanced in a way that doesn’t leave residue or weigh your hair down like a traditional pure oil would do. I definitely want to try this conditioner again when I’m not trying to do a silk press because it would be the type that I wouldn’t fully rinse out. Note: the emphasis on clean means you cannot leave any residual product in your hair leading up to the heat tools steps.
Deep Condition: Steel Mclean Fortify Mask
If you’re concerned at all about the risk of heat damage or feel like your hair might need some added protection, a deep condition is in order. But again, you can’t use natural oils like you might normally want to do. So, I opted for the Steel Mclean Fortify Mask because it also includes Keratin as a primary ingredient. And when you’re talking about using the amount of heat that a silk press requires, you want to give your hair as much added protection as possible. I definitely liked that my hair still felt soft after I rinsed this out. But I most definitely want to try this product again when I’m wearing my hair normally rather than straightened.
Blow Dry & Flat Iron: Ion Silk Drops
The real key to a silk press is to blow dry your hair thoroughly before you flat iron it. Although people may have personal preferences for products to use, pretty much every stylist I’ve talked to—including the lady I consulted with at the Sally’s Beauty Supply—have said that you can use any kind of heat protectant serum during the heat tools steps. It’s more about technique in these stages.
And this is where the silk press diverges from my normal flat iron routine. Normally, I wash my hair on one day, set it on small two-strand twists, and then flat iron my hair the next day. I mainly do this because heat damage is real and I’m lazy and hate blow drying my hair. But the goal is still the same—my hair is being stretched through a no-heat low manipulation style versus using a blow dryer.
Now, if you don’t use a good heat protectant, you can really damage your hair if you use a high heat for blow drying and then follow up with a high heat for flat ironing. And usually for naturals, heat damage means a jacked up patches of hair that no longer naturally curl when you wet it and can only be corrected but cutting the damaged hair. To be honest, the rest of this section is more about technique than the Silk Drops. However, I do think the Silk Drops were great but it’s pretty comparable to Biosilk or IC Fantasia Heat Protector Straightening Serum.
The Blow Dry:
So, like I said, I hate blow drying my hair because my hair in it’s most natural state is super curly, and holds on to water forever. But this time, I divided my hair in 4 big sections. Then I divided each quarter into 3 to 6 smaller sections before then dividing those sections into small thirds. It was time consuming but it definitely stretched my hair, which made the flat ironing step easier. Just keep in mind, you’re blow drying much smaller individual sections so:
1. It’s not necessary to use the highest heat. In fact stylists recommend you don’t because in the next and final stage, you will be using a very high heat. If you use too much heat at this stage,  it’ll encourage heat damage. I used a medium heat on medium speed throughout my entire hair.
2. For best results use the chase method. Use a paddle brush to maintain tension and keep hair stretched as you dry.
3. Focus on straightening the roots. However, (of course) do dry the entire length of hair in each section.
Flat Ironing:
There’s an optional step that some people do between the blow dry and flat iron step which is to trim your hair if it needs to be. I found that my ends still weren’t super straight so I waited until after I flat ironed my hair to trim it.
Anywho, like I mentioned before, this is the high heat stage. Now most stylists will recommend that you use heat between 400-450F. I opted for 419F using my Conair Infiniti PRO 1″ Tourmaline Ceramic Straightener. I’ve had this thing forever and I love it because I can curl and straighten with it, plus it comes with a heat cover. Much like with the blow drying stage, you need to work with small thin sections to ensure that you get as close to your roots as possible and are evenly heating each section. And again, you’re encouraged to use the chase method. A lot of stylists recommend using a fine tooth comb but I found I had horrible control so I swapped it for my paddle brush.
After finishing, my hair was definitely straight, but compared to a lot of the videos that I saw where people had that “I just got my hair relaxed” level straightness, I didn’t have those results. However, the main reason I straightened my hair was because I needed to trim it—so mission accomplished.
Tumblr media
My Thoughts:
So, these pics are from the day after I attempted a silk press. I set my hair on bantus.
1. As much as I hate blow drying, I do have to agree that it made a difference in my ability to get my roots straight and to make the whole flat ironing process a bit quicker.
2. Seeing as how I didn’t get that super straight relaxed look, I’m not sure if it’s because I opted not to set my flat iron to the hottest setting (455F) or if it’s where I needed something like a Marcel iron. However, like I mentioned earlier, I’m not a fan of heat damage because once you ruin your curl pattern, there’s no remedy besides a pair of scissors.
3. The fact that it took me almost 2 hours to blow dry my hair means I would never do my own silk press again. Although it would be a huge markup (I spent a total of $15 on the Ion Silk Drops and the IC Fantasia Heat Protector Straightening Serum vs a salon visit that can be upwards of $125), I’m still sore from the process.
So, I would definitely attempt a silk press again, but I would want a pro to do it. My wash day this time was out of control. What normally takes me 2 - 3 hours with a max of 5 over two days if I choose to straighten, took me all day to do. I know part of that was because I had to take down my Poetic Justice braids and detangle, but that blow dry step is out of control for me!

Glossier Review
I’ve said some nasty things about Glossier in the past. They, like other minimalist beauty brands, put out the idea that people who wear lots of makeup are high-maintenance and trying to hide themselves- and people who wear oily, cream products that just hint at coverage are the coolest of girls: Glossier targets people with already pretty great skin who want to seem French- by this I mean, women who wake up without pores and with rose-tinted lips and who just dot on a few products before running out to sip espresso with their DILF husband. It is secretly my dream, as well.
Glossier is selling you the dream- Their packaging is minimal, subtly feminine and trendy, they give you stickers and cool pink bags, one of their products is literally even called “cloud paint”.... And despite nearly Sephora-level prices, millions of us have bought in.
I really want to hate Glossier but I’ve loved nearly everything I’ve tried. (A disclaimer is that I still haven’t tried their skin tint or stretch concealer, as I am wary with my oily and acne-prone skin). Here’s a rundown of those things and some thoughts:
Soothing Face Mist ($18): I love a face mist, especially in the summer. To me, a good one has glycerin in it, a nice scent, and a good spray nozzle. The Glossier one has all three, and while it’s pricier than some other sprays I’ve used, you get a good amount and it really does help to calm skin and reduce redness. I use this after cleansing (or removing makeup w micellar water) and before moisturizer, or any time I need a refresh throughout the day.
Mega Greens Galaxy Pack Mask ($22): I was expecting this to do nothing for my skin and boy was I wrong- this mask combines clay and exfoliating beads which really detoxify and brighten the skin without stripping it. It’s now beating out my higher-end masks for most-used. If you have super dry skin, you might want to follow with their hydrating moon mask.
“Super Pure” Serum ($28): I’ve been tied to my Sunday Riley skincare, but my boyfriend thinks the clarifying UFO oil smells like pee, so I decided to try another acne-busting serum out. This one luckily has no scent, and though I’ve only used it for a month or so, I already think it’s making more of a difference. It’s killer at decreasing redness and sort of tightening up the skin (in a good, clean-feeling way!), and I’ve already seen my blemishes fade. You could use this (under moisturizer) as a nighttime serum, but I’ll probably stick to using it in the morning.
Milky Jelly Cleanser ($18): Another product I wanted to hate and ended up loving. I wouldn’t count on it to remove heavy eye makeup or full-coverage foundation, but I love using it as a second cleansing step or on makeup-free days when I start to feel greasy. I love the pump and how it makes my skin feel, but I haate the strong rose scent. Others really like it, but it kind of smells like an old person mixed with a diaper to me.
Priming Moisturizer ($25): This has quickly replaced my everyday moisturizer because of the finish it leaves on my skin. I wouldn’t say it’s mattifying in the sense that it helps control oil, but it does seem to blur and tighten up my skin a bit after application. If you have very dry skin, I’d go with their thicker version.
Balm Dot Com (all flavors) ($12): This is without a doubt, my favorite lip balm of all time. The formula is thick, but not greasy, almost in between a gel and a cream, and REALLY hydrates and repairs the lips. I haven’t used it anywhere else (though you certainly could use it to soothe cuticles, minor cuts, or dry patches- or even to add a little gloss to the high points of the face), but I see and feel an immediate difference on my lips. I’ve tried this in every scent/shade, and here’s my feedback: the coconut one smelled too strongly and made my lips feel weird- it, the original and the mint ones are clear/ un-tinted. The mint one is my favorite- it’s refreshing and a little tingly. I’m not a huge fan of the rose smell but the pale pink tint on this one makes my lips look plump and juicy. The cherry one is interesting- it’s a little more matte/chalky and very pigmented (red), so you could wear this as a statement lip that’s also moisturizing- love the scent.
Generation G Lipstick in “Crush” ($18): Of all the sins you could commit, making a sheer matte lipstick used to be #1 in my book. But after trying it out, I’m a convert. I see the appeal in a moisturizing balm with a matte finish and a light wash of color. Plus this shade, crush, is a beautiful bright berry that wakes up my face. My only complaint is that after only a few weeks of use the case started to crack and the lipstick broke off in the tube. I can still use it, but for the $$ I shelled out, that’s upsetting. I saw that others experienced the same thing in other reviews and it looks like Glossier is en route to fixing.
Cloud Paint Blush in “Beam” ($18): This is absolutely without a doubt my favorite Glossier product and my new favorite blush of all time. I think the shade, a bright coral, has a lot to do with that, as does the longevity and pigmentation. In the past cream or liquid blushes have been hard to blend and faded off my cheeks quickly, but this one goes on like a dream and lasts longer than even some of my powder blushes. The shade is truly gorgeous and makes my skin glow.
Haloscope Highlighter in “Quartz” ($22): I’m now a cream highlight convert. While I still love the look of a beaming powder highlight, there is something about this stick that makes my skin look insane. There’s a core of coconut oil or something surrounded by pigment that isn’t exactly sparkly or glittery but is also shiny and pearlescent. It’s a more subtle glow rather than a BAM look at this gold glitter look, which I prefer for everyday. I apply it straight from the tubes on the tops of my cheekbones and then tap my fingers in it to apply more there and on my cupid’s bow. If you aren’t into wearing foundation, you could probably put this all over your face and get loads of compliments.
Overall, I still think Glossier is overpriced and has some flaws, but man their products have certainly hooked me. I’ll be repurchasing the Haloscope, cloud paint, cleanser, primer and lipstick when they run out and trying new shades. I’m also excited to try their Body Hero shower oil and Wowder powder.

5 Ways to Protect Yourself from Lead in Water, You Know, Just in Case
Tumblr media
You might have listened to a little tale over the previous year concerning just how the government in Flint, Michigan, intentionally poisoned the community's homeowners by means of old pipes that put high amounts of lead in the community's water. Pretty awful, ideal? Well, it turns out that this concern might not be restricted to just one town-lead in water is way much more common than you may think.
Many cities throughout the country have unbelievably old lead pipelines that could potentially contaminating drinking water. Why? Well, because lead was regularly utilized for solution and also pipes lines until the mid-1900s.
In 1986, the US Epa found out that lead was quite unsafe-- especially to kids's minds. That's when lead was officially nixed from all new solder, pipes, and also solution lines. But, that regulation 'doesn't put on buildings created prior to 1986, as well as lead-free was specified as 8 percent lead up until 2014, when a brand-new plan kicked in that decreased that number to 0.25 percent," Mother Jones reports.
Now, you may be believing, isn't there some sort of compulsory testing that's intended to identify lead in water? Yes, there is!
" Under the Safe Alcohol consumption Water Act, utilities are expected to examine water for lead in risky houses-- as well as if greater than 10 percent of residences have greater degrees than the government criterion of 15 parts per billion, utilities have to inform consumers as well as do something about it," Mom Jones reports.
But the important things is, those tests do absolutely nothing if the results are misrepresented.
" But till this February, when the EPA clarified its policy, lots of utilities had methods in location that misrepresented the results ... Some prevented testing older residences that likely had lead pipes or marked down high results that skewed the average,' Mother Jones explains.
' Some would certainly inform consumers to clear out the water the night in advance, releasing lead bits before the example was taken. Some accumulated water in sample containers with slim tops, when the example is accumulated at a flow, it is less likely to lug particulates with it. In feedback to the dilemma in Flint, the EPA clarified its water screening methods in February, though the assistance is not legitimately binding.'
So, just what can you do to shield on your own and also your household from being revealed to lead? Below are a few, practical suggestions.
1. Do it yourself
Yeah, the city needs to do this, yet occasionally you've reached get your hands dirty to earn sure something is done right.
Old residences in some cities still have lead lines. To figure out if your house is among those residences, enter into your cellar and also discover a bare pipeline. Gently scratch it with a coin. If the pipeline's shade resembles that of a cent, your pipes aren't lead. But if the pipe's shade looks like a nickel, it's most likely a lead pipeline. If you have the cash money, you can replace your personal pipes. If not, simply use a water filter.
2. Water filter
Water filters are cheap and also very easy to find. "There are a number of different kinds of filters-- ones that connect to the faucet, counter, pipelines under the sink, or a water bottle," Mother Jones reports. "Those that are accredited by NSF International, an exclusive company that rates water filters, are a great wager."
3. Invest in a water test
This is a great idea-- an initial step-- yet it's not totally reputable. Why? Since "lead particle launch is erratic, so even evaluating numerous times does not always prove you're in the clear," Mom Jones reports.
But it's still not a bad concept to go forward with a test. You could request one from local energies or a wellness department. There's likewise a well-known third-party tester called Healthy Infants Bright Futures that will send you a mail-in lead test for a fee.
4. Check the faucet
Did you know that a lot of brass could contain regarding 8 percent lead till 2014? Yeah, that was permitted thanks to the catch we stated above ... But fortunately, replacing a faucet is an affordable fix.
5. Flush water
Although Mom Jone's obtains how crucial water preservation is, flushing pipes can assist remove pollutants, consisting of lead in water. "Running the water for concerning a min in the morning before consuming it to prevent prospective pollutants that have accumulated overnight. This won't solve the issue entirely-- particularly if you have lead pipes-- but it could assist."

Hi so a couple people have asked me about my skin routine~ so here’s the tea!
I’ve pretty much phased fast food and dairy out of my diet and I think both of those have been huge factors in why my skin is the way it is now. Dairy doesn’t affect everyone, but I’m allergic so it had to go.
I use micellar water to take my makeup off right now, but tbh I’m a big fan of using oils to take off makeup and my favorites are coconut, olive, and vitamin e. I’ll rub the oil on my face with my fingers and then use a cotton ball with warm water to get the makeup off. We stan home remedies over here ladies!
At night I wash my face twice with a deep cleansing cleanser. Right now I’m using Murad clarifying cleanser, but the orange Neutrogena one works just as well. Because honestly.... buying $30 cleansers? In this economy?
I use St. Ives oatmeal scrub on my face just about every night because it’s gentle enough to get rid of dead skin cells (which is important because your skin cells regenerate overnight!), but it’s also really nourishing. Apricot scrub? We don’t know her.
I’m a big fan of charcoal products. After I use the oatmeal scrub I’ll either use Biore’s charcoal scrub, Freeman’s sugar charcoal mask, or Origins charcoal mask (3x a week at the very very most). The Origins mask has increased my life expectancy. I’m sure of it.
If my skin is being really problematic I’ll put a drop of tea tree oil between my hands and rub them together and put that on my face. Maybe two drops. And then I use Dickinson’s witch hazel as my toner. This is my favorite step because it makes me feel holistic and ethereal.
I use Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer and it’s the only moisturizer I’ve consistently used since elementary school, we stan.
In the mornings I use Philosophy’s clear days ahead cleanser, witch hazel, and then moisturizer. This cleanser is really good for getting rid of dark spots because acne scars have no place in this household!
Drinking water is also useful, change your pillowcases often, get some sleep, and drink green tea 😊
I had stopped wearing my BB cream because my acne scars were peeking through and I honestly couldn’t handle the stress. But a couple weeks ago I started wearing it again but applying it differently and was 100% shook at the coverage. I thought the application had made a difference, but I finally really looked in the mirror the other day and noticed that my scars are about 80% gone lol.
I’d like to thank Fenty Beauty & Clinique for providing coverage in the meantime, and Murad, Origins, Philoshopy, and Clean & Clear for clearing my skin. I’m a nü woman

My Favorite Beauty Products
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every girl has her favorite beauty products. I have a long list of products I use daily or even weekly. The brands vary from product to product too. Here are my all-time favorite beauty products and how I use them.
Diffuser with Essential Oils in Peppermint, Lavender, and Eucalyptus I turn this on every night before bed.  I literally can’t sleep without it. I believe it works wonders for my allergies and makes for a great night light too.
Biore Charcoal Deep Cleansing Pore Strips I use these twice a week. It’s actually quite gross once you peel them off and see all the dirt and grime closing your pores. Make sure to keep it on for only 10 minutes though, if you go longer it’s gonna hurt like crazy ripping it off.
Elf Oil Control Liquid Lotion This is apart of my morning skincare routine. I have extremely oily skin. This product is the only moisturizer that doesn’t leave me feeling even more oily after application.
Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Eliminating Astringent I have two uses for this product. I apply with a cotton pad right after cleansing in my nightly skincare routine. And I put some in a mini spray bottle to lightly spray my face mask before each use. It has done wonders for my mask acne.
Dr. Teal’s Witch Hazel Facial Toner with Eucalyptus This toner is apart of my morning skincare routine. It follows after the Garnier Rose Water.
Garnier SkinActive Water Rose Micellar Cleansing Water This has been a life changer! I use this product to remove my makeup at night and as my cleanser in my morning skincare routine. It’s not harsh on my face and gets the little oil and dirt off my face that I accumulated through the night.
Herbalife Skin Clearify Spot Treatment I use this product whenever I break out. I use it in my night routine and morning routine if need be. I love how it dries out the breakout with leaving no scar.
Mary Kay Timewise Age Minimize 3D Eye Cream Every girl should have their favorite eye cream! Start early no one wants crows feet by the time they are thirty.
Elf Clarifying Booster Drops This serum is apart of my nightly skincare routine it follows my Calming Facial Spray. Since using it I have seen an improvement in my skin tone.
Elf Active Post Workout Cool Down Mist Of course, I spray this right on after a workout, whether I have makeup on or not.
Elf + Matte Oil-Control Mask I try to do one of each of my many masks a week. This mask I use when I can tell I’m getting too oily. Sometimes if I have a lot of time to get ready in the morning I will put it on so my makeup doesn’t look oily throughout the day.
Mary Kay Clear Proof Deep Cleansing Charcoal Mask This mask I use when my pores need good cleaning. It works wonders on blackheads and whiteheads.
Herbalife Skin Clearify Mask This mask is probably the one I use the most out of the three. I use it when I see that I’m breaking out more then I would like.
HanHoo Blemish Patch These are the best invention on the planet! When I see a break out start I put one of these on overnight and it takes the infection right out. I even sometimes wear them throughout the day if I have a breakout on my chin because my mask can cover it.
Mary Kay Hydrogel Eye Patches What is sleep, never heard of her? These babies are a lifesaver to my dark under eyes. The plus side is they are pink, glittery, and smell amazing!
Elf Calming Facial Oil Mist This product is new to my collection. I have only had it for a couple of weeks and I have already fallen in love. I use it periodically throughout the day and at night after my Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Eliminating Astringent. That stuff has the worst smell, so I combat it with this amazing smelling facial mist.
Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Soft Waves Sea Salt Spray Why use a curler when you can put some product in your hair and not heat damage it!?
Not Your Mother’s All Eyes on Me 10 in 1 Hair Perfector When I do want to use heat on my hair this is my go-to beforehand product. It smells absolutely amazing too!
Dove Fresh and Floral Dry Shampoo Everyone has their favorite dry shampoo this is mine. Now I don’t use dry shampoo very often but when I do this is my product. It smells like you took a shower too.
Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Love Moisturizing Body Cream If you don’t have this Bath and Body Works scent YOU ARE MISSING OUT! I use it religiously after showers.
Elf Calm Balm Can you tell I get stressed easily? Your girls got all the calming products. This lip balm is the best for on the go!
Burt’s Bees Vanilla Bean Moisturizing Lip Balm Chapstick go-to!
Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo and Conditioner Who doesn’t want to have their hair smell like a flower garden!? While also keeping color lasting longer!
Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Oil I saw this on TikTok so I had to give it a try. After shaving put this stuff on in the shower, you will be amazed at how great your legs feel.
Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy Stress Relief Body Wash This is my everyday shower body wash. If I don’t use it I can tell my anxiety is worse.
Dove Restoring Coconut Butter and Cocoa Butter Nourishing Body Wash I use this body wash after I shave to add even more moisture and it smells amazing.
Herbalife Skin Clearify Cleanser This is my nightly cleanser. I love that it has natural products in it. Along with a few essential oils.
Morphe Pallet Second Nature 3502 This is my go-to eyeshadow pallet when I do my eye makeup. I use it for simple looks and glamour looks too.
Elf Poreless Putty Primer The primer that broke the internet is real guys, but you should already know that! If you haven’t tried this yet, I’m assuming you live under a rock.
Mary Kay Mineral Foundation Beige .5 I have got into the stage of minimal and light coverage foundation. This is the power that I can’t live without.
Elf 16 Hour Camo Concealer I heard this almost broke the internet too! Rightfully so it’s the best concealer at the best price!
Mary Kay Eye Primer I will not use any other eye primer! Do not at me!
Mary Kay Volumizing Brow Tint in Burnette Brows really do frame your face. If you have no clue how to pencil them or don’t even want to attempt, this product is perfect for you. Light strokes make a world of difference.
Mary Kay Lash Primer Yes honey your lashes need primer too.
Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara I’m probably the pickiest when it comes to my mascara. Due to killing my eyelashes all those years in dance. It can’t flake, dry out my lashes, or not even come off with makeup remover.
I know that was a long list but I hope you take some of these products and try them for yourself! Maybe you have already tried the product, tell me what you liked or didn’t like about it. And as always be sure to follow along on all my social media platforms to see into my everyday life. From daily insta story vlogs, OOTDs, thrifting trips, travel adventures, and of course baby Pumkin. Laters babes!

African Pride Black Castor Cleansing Rinse Review
Sometimes I wonder why I even go to the beauty offer. Take a look at my dresser and you will understand why. It is littered with half used, never opened and empty bottles that could easily fill a small shop window. There are several jars of one brand and about five different versions of edge control. But amidst my pile, for want of a better word, stuff, is just a scalp conditioner: the African Pride Black Castor Miracle Cleansing Rinse ($ 4.99). The reason I only have one is because I actually hated them until a few weeks ago.
First, I admit that my contempt for them is somewhat related to my predilection for being lazy. It's good that those of us with textured hair can go for days and even weeks without washing our hair. Because if that were not the case, the build-up would fall from my head as Ally Sheedy's shed is snowing on her desk in the breakfast club. I have never looked forward to the wash day and when it comes, my goal is to make it as short as possible. So the idea of adding a rinse on my shampoo and between washes was counterproductive.
In addition, I came to the conclusion that cleaning rinses did the same job as a clarifying shampoo anyway, even though I wear a protective style. In both cases you need to get your hair wet and they usually have the same ingredients. But if you do not like dry shampoo, there are really no other alternatives to keep your scalp from becoming a wasteland product while you're bending into box braids or a sewn-in. Yes, there are also no-rinse options, but the ironic side effect of this is just more building up. Spent more money just to find out more about the same problem? No. – Thank you. You.
All things considered, you can understand the depth of my side eye after getting African Pride's new Braid and Scalp Cleansing Conditioner. To be honest, I thought Maaaaybe would give it away until I remembered that the job of a true-blue product junkie is to give everything a fair chance. So I started another cleaning experiment – new braids in tow – with the expectation that I would be disappointed again.
Except … I was not. Actually, I was speechless. By way of exception, something with extra footwork has actually paid off the time you spent strategically with braids and a kitchen tube. My scalp felt clean, but not the kind of squeaky clean that leaves it sensitive to the touch. My braids still looked fresh and remained secure at the root. I think it has to do with the tiny nozzle and do more with what I think is a perfect mix of scalp detox.
First, there is micellar water. I think this is the less aggressive version of apple cider vinegar. Do not get me wrong, I love the latter, but it can feel aggressive if you use it regularly. Micellar water is just as effective in removing dirt, but much gentler. Then there is peppermint oil, which literally feels like the perfect onslaught of cold air and also has antimicrobial benefits. What is a structured hair product without the growth-promoting wonders of black castor oil? This is the first time I have seen it in a flush and I am not mad at it. Add the dandruff fighting powers of coconut oil and you literally have a hero product.
Here is the reservation. It's not online yet, but that was just too good not to talk about it. Until it's on Amazon or Sally Beauty's website, you can get a bottle of African Pride Black Castor Miracle Cleansing Conditioner in most beauty care stores for $ 4.99. I promise it's worth the couch for. And if you need something to hold you, I recommend trying out one of these Buildup Busters and other African Pride's outstanding things.

In today’s post you’ll find my June favourite and not so favourite skincare and makeup products. Keep reading if you wish to see my picks.
Skincare favourites
Face products
Tumblr media
Heimish All Clean Balm 120 ml (18 USD)
Before this one I used Banila Co Clean it Zero cleansing balm and had good results when it came to removing makeup. But this one I like even more. It’s very gentle, yet so effective in removing stubborn makeup and impurities from my skin. It also doesn’t bother my eyes. I find that the herbal scent is a bit strong, but due to it’s effectiveness, I can easily get passed it. Some beneficial ingredients are Shea butter, coconut extract, citrus herb oil and donkey milk.
Heimish All Clean White Clay Foam (12 USD)
Perfect everyday cleansing foam. I love that it has a nice dense foam. Even my husband said it’s his favourite foam cleanser so far. It contains Amazonian white clay to deeply cleanse pores, but it doesn’t leave my skin feeling dry or tight. Other notable ingredients are hyaluronic acid, coconut oil and herbal oils. The scent is herbal, but not overpowering.
Su:m37 Skin Saver Essential Cleansing Foam (30 USD)
I got this as a sample product when I bought Su:m37 Secret Essence. It’s a foam type cleanser that I like to use in the morning because it’s very gentle and leaves my face clean and moisturised. Only a small amount of product is needed to create a nice foam.
Son & Park Beauty Water 340 ml (30 USD)
I’ve had this product for a few months now and started using it again more frequently, which reminded me how great it is. Beauty Water is a multi-tasking toner and cleansing water. It can be used in the morning as a toner to prep your skin, midday to refresh your skin and in the evening to remove all remaining impurities after you double-cleanse. It’s also a mild exfoliator (willow bark and papaya extract) and has a pH of 4.5 to reset your skin to its natural balance. It leaves my face feeling fresh, clean, bright, hydrated and also preps my skin beautifully for makeup application. One of my favourite toners so far.
Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine 200 ml (27 USD)
Tumblr media
If I could sing praises to this one, I would. It’s a physical and chemical exfoliator in one, making it easy and quick to use – where have you been all my life? It provides gentle yet effective exfoliation of dead skin cells and impurities, leaving my skin smooth and clear. It contains 30 single use pads that are soaked in an essence. The mechanical exfoliator is basically criss-crossed gauze side of the pads and the chemical one is lactic and glycolic acid. I use these once or twice a week to keep my skin brighter and softer.
Blithe Pressed Serum – Crystal Iceplant 50 ml (55 USD) –
This is my go-to serum and moisturiser two-in-one now that the weather is getting hot. It has a lightweight gel cream texture and absorbs instantly into my skin leaving it moisturised and shine-free, never feeling heavy. It also has a cooling effect on the skin. It’s infused with 63% Iceplant extract for long lasting hydration. I love that it comes with a spatula making the use hygienic. Being a two-in-one product, it also makes my skincare routine a lot faster.

OST Original Pure Vitamin C20 Serum
One of my favourite treatments is vitamin C serum. Why? It brightens up my skin, helps with healing and fading my pimple scars, works as an exfoliator and has anti-ageing properties. This product claims to have 20% of Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and that is pretty great since it means it’s more effective. The only problem is the vitamin C is not stable – it’s extremely sensitive to light and oxygen and oxidises pretty fast. I store it in refrigerator to keep it fresh. I use it few times a week in the serum part of my evening skincare routine. Two things I don’t like about this product – smells like metal and my face feels sticky after the application. But considering the benefits it provides, I love it.
Neogen Day-Light Sun Protection Sun Screen 50 ml (30 USD)
Great lightweight sun screen with SPF 50 PA +++. It absorbs quickly, never feels greasy, doesn’t leave white cast and layers well with makeup – what else could you ask from a sun screen?

Scrub Love Coconut and Cranberry Body Scrub (17 USD)
I love some body scrub from time to time. Makes my skin smooth as a baby’s bottom. This scrub I got in Look Fantastic Beauty Box and it’s one of the best body scrubs I’ve tried in a while. It contains coconut shell and coconut flakes to slough away dead skin cells. It’s also infused with cranberry seed oil to moisturise and rejuvenate your skin. And the big plus – all of the ingredients are natural.
Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Nourishing Body Oil 115 ml (14 USD)
I’ve started using this body oil (and belly butter) in my third month of pregnancy. I’m 8 months pregnant now and so far so good – no stretch marks yet. Body oil is infused with sweet almond and lemon oils and Vitamin E which help keeping my skin hydrated and nourished. I use it in the evening after my shower. The scent is citrusy and light – very relaxing.
Burt’s Bees Mama Bee Belly Butter (20 USD)
Same as with the body oil, so far so good. I like that it doesn’t feel heavy and sinks into my skin fast. It contains a combination of Cocoa, Shea and Jojoba butters to keep my belly soft. I apply it in the morning for all-day hydration and protection.
Rituals Miracle Scrub Hand Scrub (15.50 USD)
Ultra softening hand scrub enriched with nourishing oils. Have been loving this product for such a long time. It gives my hands amazing softness and protection.

Tumblr media
Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray 150 ml (24 USD)
I’m already on my second bottle of this volume-building spray. It has a lightweight texture, never feels sticky or heavy. I spray it on the roots of my hair while it is still damp. After I blow-dry, my hair has a nice volume.
L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Huile Originale (32 USD)
This product was also a part of Look Fantastic Beauty Box and one of the best hair oils I’ve tried so far. I like to apply it before I blow-dry my hair to protect it from the heat. Afterwards my hair is silky smooth but without feeling heavy. It contains highly concentrated Argan oil for nourishment and protection.
Avon Advance Techniques Supreme Oils Treatment Mask (7 USD)
Wonderful nourishing treatment mask that combines 5 oils – Macadamia Oil, Almond Oil, Camelia Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil and Marula Oil. You are supposed to apply it to the wet hair, leave it for a minute and rinse it off. Afterwards my hair feels like silk. I absolutely love that it’s fuss free and it takes only a minute to work wonders on my hair.
Makeup favourites
Tumblr media
Becca Sunlit Bronzer Capri Coast (38 USD)
One of the new Becca products. This bronzer is very finely milled and gives my skin beautiful sun-kissed glow. The packaging is also beautiful.
Tumblr media
OFRA Everglow (35 USD)
This highlighter is the newest addition to OFRA highlighters collection and a collaboration with talented beauty blogger and vlogger NikkieTutorials. It has three summer ready shades in one compact – frosty white, champagne and copper. I use the champagne shade as a highlighter, copper as an eyeshadow and white to highlight the inner corners of my eyes – quick and fuss free summer makeup look.
Tumblr media
Missha M Signature Real Complete BB Cream SPF25 PA++ 20 ml (14 USD)
Perfect for days when I don’t feel like applying any foundation to my face but still want to look decent. It goes on easily and brightens up my face. The finish is on the dewy side. I got it in the shade No. 23 and it matches my light to medium complexion very well.
Tumblr media
L.A. Girl PRO.coverage HD Long Wear Illuminating Liquid Foundation (10 USD)
I’ve already talked about this one in my LA Girl haul here. It gives my face that polished flawless look, while still looking natural. Now that I’ve got some tan, shade Natural fits me perfectly.
  Not so favourites
Tumblr media
Nivea Gentle Foaming Cleanser
A solid cleansing mousse, gentle on my face and eyes, but it doesn’t remove my makeup completely. And the foam is not dense enough for my preference.
Avon True Nutra Effects Micellar Water
This is supposed to be a gentle micellar water suitable for all skin types. Even though it removes makeup well, even waterproof and stubborn makeup, it stings not only my eyes but my whole face.
Real Chemistry Luminous 3-minute Peel
This is a peeling gel that is supposed to remove dead skin cells from your face and neck. I’m not sure is it only me, but after I’m done with the peeling and try to remove the solids that have formed, they stick to my skin and facial hair and there is no way I can remove them properly. Also, I haven’t noticed my skin feeling any smoother. I’m glad this was only a sample, because full sized product retails for 70 USD.
Avon Planet Spa Amazonian Treasures Hydrating Face Mask
As the name suggests, this is a hydrating facial mask. I don’t usually go for hydrating masks, I prefer clarifying ones. I’m not saying this is a bad mask, but it doesn’t do much for my face. And it stings my face for the first few minutes.
St. Tropez Instant Tan Body Gloss
This was a part of Look Fantastic Beauty Box. I’m not a fan of self-tanning products in general, but this was one of the worse I’ve tried in awhile. It’s very sticky, takes a lot of time to completely dry and stains everything it touches. This is supposed to be easily removed with water, but after I’ve tried that, it left my skin with orangey tanned patches.
Thanks for reading 🙂

From Dr Roebuck’s to Kopari: 21 of the Best New Skincare Products In Stores This Summer
This article may contain affiliate links. See our Disclosure for more information.
Summer is in now full swing, and I've got an update on all the new (and lightweight!) skincare products you need to know about this season.
I'm always on the lookout for silicone-free moisturizers and sulfate-free cleansers, and one of my favourite brands just launched both of them. There's also a new retinol alternative to try, a non-drying clay mask, and several types of exfoliants—all made with clean ingredients.

Here are the latest launches from Dr Roebuck's, Herbivore, Kopari and more....
New Skincare Products for Summer 2019
Tumblr media
New skincare products from Kopari, Kate Somerville, Dr Roebuck's, Caudalie, Dermalogica, The Body Shop and L'Occitane.
Dr Roebuck’s Stoked Weightless Face Moisturizer
Tumblr media
Dr Roebuck's Stoked Weightless Face Moisturizer
Dr Roebuck's Stoked Weightless Face Moisturizer is a silicone-free moisturizer that would be perfect for oily, combination and acne-prone skin. As it has a very thin cream texture, it gives you lightweight hydration with no greasiness whatsoever. One of its most interesting ingredients is "Fucogel," a gum made from sorbitol that has skin conditioning properties.

Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum
Tumblr media
Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum
Herbivore Bakuchiol Retinol Alternative Smoothing Serum is a gel serum with bakuchiol, a plant extract that is said to be a non-irritating alternative to retinol. While retinol is still the gold standard for anti-aging, this could be a good option if you can't tolerate it or prefer something all-natural. It's also hydrating, thanks to aloe, glycerin and mushroom extract.
Kopari Coconut Detox Mask
Tumblr media
Kopari Coconut Detox Mask
Kopari Coconut Detox Mask is a clay mask that moisturizes, deep-cleans your pores and calms down inflammation. The texture is super creamy and it never becomes dried out, so even dry and sensitive skin can use this. Besides their signature coconut oil, some of the ingredients include bentonite and kaolin clays, glycerin, propanediol and shea butter.
Foreo Luna 3
Tumblr media
Foreo Luna 3 for Combination Skin
Foreo Luna 3 is the latest version of my all-time favourite cleansing brush. It now syncs up with your phone so you can customize the intensity, as well as your firming and massage routine. Plus, you get the same gentle silicone bristles that won't irritate your skin or harbour bacteria. Choose from Combination (my favourite!), Sensitive or Normal.
Dr Roebuck’s Kibosh Weightless Foaming Cleanser
Tumblr media
Dr Roebuck's Kibosh Weightless Foaming Cleanser
Dr Roebuck's Kibosh Weightless Foaming Cleanser is a sulfate-free foaming cleanser made with oily and sensitive skin in mind. It's non-stripping, and cleans with gentle, natural cleansing agents while jojoba oil keeps skin hydrated.
Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleansers
Tumblr media
Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleansers
Omorovicza Peachy Micellar Cleansers are a set of 60 soft pads pre-soaked in a micellar water solution. You can use them as a makeup remover or a regular cleanser, no rinsing required. The natural formula features glycerin, propanediol, olive oil esters and rosewater. (The peach is in the scent, but they only use natural fragrances.)
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Serum
Tumblr media
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Serum
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Serum is a non-acidic serum for purifying and balancing oily skin. The zinc helps to reduce excess oil production, mushroom extract alleviates sensitivity, and propanediol and hyaluronic acid provide hydration. The claim is that regular use will reduce blemishes.
Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream
Tumblr media
Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream
Biossance Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream is a rich, hydrating eye cream. It's restoring moisture with squalane oil, glycerin and coconut and olive fatty acids (and no silicones). It also has a peptide and an algae complex, which may help a bit with firming.
Kora Organics Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum
Tumblr media
Kora Organics Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum
Kora Organics Noni Bright Vitamin C Serum is a vitamin C serum for brightening and evening out your skin tone. Its star ingredient is 12 percent ascorbyl glucoside, which is a mild vitamin C derivative. It also contains citrus fruit extracts and hyaluronic acid.
Youth to the People Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner
Tumblr media
Youth to the People Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner
Youth to the People Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner is an exfoliating toner with eight percent lactic acid and three percent glycolic acid. It also contains kombucha, which apparently helps promote a healthy microbiome. It's best to start out using this three times a week, working your way up to nightly (if you tolerate it).
Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy
Tumblr media
Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy
Naturally Serious Fruit-Tox Resurfacing Facial Remedy is a gentle exfoliation treatment for normal to oily and combination skin. It's both a scrub and an acid, thanks to pumice and fruit sources of alpha-hydroxy acids. Red clay gives it a red colour and helps clean out pores. This one is only to be used two or three times per week.
Lanolips Lip Water
Tumblr media
Lanolips Lip Water
Lanolips Lip Water is a 98.9 percent natural lip treatment that's halfway between a lip balm and a lip gloss. Like all the brand's products, it's high in nourishing lanolin. But it has more of a fluid texture (so you paint it on with the brush), and it's spiked with holographic shimmer.
Dermalogica AGE Bright Clearing Serum
Tumblr media
Dermalogica AGE Bright Clearing Serum
Dermalogica AGE Bright Clearing Serum is an all-over serum that helps treat and prevent breakouts. The main active ingredient is two percent salicylic acid; it's also high in niacinamide and other brightening ingredients. The only downside is quite a few essential oils, so be cautious if you are sensitive.
Boscia Resurfacing Treatment Toner
Tumblr media
Boscia Resurfacing Treatment Toner
Boscia Resurfacing Treatment Toner is an exfoliating toner with both alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids, along with apple cider vinegar. In total, it has a 20 percent concentration of acids (glycolic, salicylic and acetic), so it's super strong! (Be careful with this one!)
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Spot Treatment
Tumblr media
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Spot Treatment
Dr. Barbara Sturm Clarifying Spot Treatment is a tinted spot treatment for healing acne breakouts. Since Dr. Sturm is against anything harsh, this treats blemishes with zinc, niacinamide, tea tree oil and bioflavonoids. It comes in three sheer tints, so you can wear this during the day instead of concealer.
Indie Lee Energize Body Wash
Tumblr media
Indie Lee Energize Body Wash
Indie Lee Energize Body Wash is a natural, sulfate-free body wash that cleans with gentle coconut-derived surfactants. Bergamot, grapefruit and orange essential oils make for an aromatherapy experience in your shower!
Caudalie Limited Edition Beauty Elixir
Tumblr media
Caudalie Limited Edition Beauty Elixir
Caudalie Limited Edition Beauty Elixir is the brand's cult favourite face mist, now available in pink packaging for a limited time. You can use it for its aromatherapy benefits, or to refresh your skin and set your makeup. (I'd just avoid it if you are dry or sensitive, due to the alcohol and essential oils.)
L’Occitane Delicious Lip Scrub
Tumblr media
L'Occitane Delicious Lip Scrub
L'Occitane Delicious Lip Scrub is a gentle lip scrub that looks good enough to eat! It comes in three jam-like flavours, Raspberry Crush, Marmalade Kiss and Fabulous Fig; you just massage them over dry lips before rinsing off. Walnut shell powder does the exfoliating, while propanediol and glycerin add hydration.
Kate Somerville Kx Active Concentrates Ceramides + Omegas Serum
Tumblr media
Kate Somerville Kx Active Concentrates Ceramides + Omegas Serum
Kate Somerville Kx Active Concentrates Ceramides + Omegas Serum is calming and hydrating serum for dry skin. It's got several ceramides to help support the skin barrier, plus glycerin, yeast protein and propanediol (and no silicones). The omegas include cucumber and sea buckthorn oils, which are slightly unstable but not in high quantities here. You'll love the lightweight texture that skin just drinks up.
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
Tumblr media
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream
Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream just got an upgrade to its formula. Previously, this rich cream worked its magic with a blend of six oils (marula, mongongo, baobab, watermelon, ximenia and passion fruit). Now, it also includes three different ceramides for added barrier protection. I believe this one is best for dry skin that is not prone to acne.
The Body Shop Sheet Masks
Tumblr media
The Body Shop Aloe Calm Sheet Mask
The Body Shop Sheet Masks are a new collection of single-use biodegradable sheet masks infused with various ingredients. Choose from Aloe, Vitamin E, Seaweed, Vitamin C and Drops of Youth.
